Screen veterans Steve Bastoni (Police Rescue, The Matrix Reloaded), Daniela Farinacci (Lantana), Logie Award winner Lachy Hulme (Romper Stomper, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), and Darcy Kent (New Gold Mountain) lead a powerhouse cast in this searing retelling of a pivotal Melbourne story.
On 15 October 1970, dozens of workers were mid-construction on Melbourne’s West Gate Bridge when it catastrophically collapsed, marking Australia’s deadliest industrial accident. Thirty-five men lost their lives, leaving countless workers and families forever changed.
Enter Scrapper, a mouthy young labourer born into the construction union, whose attitude begins to shift when paired with veteran welder Vittorio. As concerns over working conditions and safety mount, tension escalates. Engineers, desperate to finish the bridge, scramble to placate the workforce—despite lacking experience building a steel bridge of this magnitude. When the structure tragically collapses, who will bear the consequences?
